PS3 and Auction Sites

Have you looked in the sale papers for a PS3? If you do see them on sale it’s not much off the regular price. It can be annoying if you only have a set amount of money to work with and it’s not quite enough to make the purchase.

I’m right there with you! I have tried to justify the item in so many ways for so long. To start building a PS3 fund I thought I would begin by selling my old PS2 games. I’ve thought about going through my closet and digging out my old jeans to see what they might fetch on eBay. I’ve even gone through my garage looking for tools that I don’t use to sell them online. I even once had a garage sale to sell all my old junk so I could fund the purchase of the PS3. It netted me $52. I don’t recommend garage sales as you’ll end up getting less money for your stuff! You’ll make much more money selling your stuff on eBay.

It’s not just you, I feel the same way. When compared to other game systems the PS3 is far-and-away superior. A primary selling point for me is that it is Blu-Ray. I could not only play HD games on it but I could now watch all my movies in HD as well. Good luck getting that point past the wife! Honestly, once we got HD and my wife watched it a few times we really only watch HD shows or movies. In the end it wasn’t that difficult to get her on my side for the PS3 purchase except when it came to the price.

I’ve been around the block on this concept and if I have not been able to find a better deal on a game system that also plays Blu-Ray than the PS3. Even when it’s not on sale! The average Blu-Ray player will cost you $200-$250 but it doesn’t play games. Unfortunately for Microsoft, HD-DVD was not the chosen format going forward and this will ultimately hurt their sales. The challenge remains in getting the PS3 at a discount.

I searched on eBay and some other traditional auction sites and found that there really aren’t any PS3 Sale Prices out there. They show perceived value by including all these extras that you may or may not even care about. When I’m trying to spend as little money as possible this just doesn’t work for me.

Ultimately, I had to think outside the box. Somebody told me about unique bid auction sites and I started researching them. You’ll find a few out there for sure but one stands above the rest, www.auctions4acause.com. The selection they have for affordable items is far superior to the other sites. Most other sites focus on really high-dollar items like cars, boats, houses and land. That’s fine and dandy but I just want the console!

I knew I had a winner when I found that site. They had the item I wanted and it was possible for me to get it very cheap. I cruised on over to their site an account. I rung up 3 bids and knew I had the lowest and unique bid. Wouldn’t you know it, I didn’t win the first time. It was another couple of days before another one came up for auction. I bid 3 or 4 more times, said my prayers and waited. Bingo! I won this time. About 6 days later I was unpacking the new PS3. At the end I had dropped less than $60.64. Not too shabby, huh?

It can take a few minutes of reading to truly grasp the concept of the lowest unique bid auction style. After you grasp the idea you could become addicted. Since that time that I won the PS3 I’ve bid on and won 3 other items including an iPod Nano (they have the best iPod Prices) and $400 gas card. I’ve won over $1,200 worth of stuff for about $350 in bid fees.

If you’re looking for the best prices don’t bother with the Best Buys or Walmarts. Go register at Auctions4aCause and get a great deal.
